Who is eligible?

Spaces are limited across courses and areas, however in essence you must have a registered address (company or own address) within either Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.

You can be employed or unemployed

  • If you are unemployed 100% of the costs will be covered if you qualify.
  • If you are employed, your employer will get between 70-90% of the costs covered in you qualify.

You will need to be aged 19 years or more.

What is available

If you are unemployed, you could receive 100% funded training and if you are an employee, your employer only needs to contribute between 10-30% of the costs.

Construction Operative

  • QNUK Level 1 Award for Health & Safety in a Construction Environment
  • CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test
  • QNUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First aid at Work (Management of Catastrophic Bleeding)
  • QNUK Level 1 Award in Fire Awareness at Work
  • QNUK Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Loads at Work
  • QNUK Level 2 Award in The Safe Use of Ladders and Stepladders
  • QNUK Level 2 Award in Abrasive Wheel Safety (Portable & Handheld)
  • QNUK Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH
  • QNUK Level 2 Award in Asbestos Awareness
  • NPORS Vehicle Marshal (N403)
  • NPORS Harness & Fall Arrest (N723)
  • CABWI Location & Avoidance of Underground Apparatus

Expedient Secure Funding to deliver Skills Bootcamps

Award winning training provider, Expedient Training, has secured funding to deliver a range of Construction and Green Skills Bootcamps in the Northeast Region.

Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses which last up to 16 weeks and are being delivered in partnership with employers, further education training providers and local government.

The training and support available is aligned with local and national demand for skills, ensuring that people have direct line of sight to a job and support people to get skills for life.
