With an average of 15 people dying every year in work related confined spaces, it’s of course a necessity to ensure that employees that operate within these conditions are given the highest quality training available.
Expedient are proud to have trained four thousand people in confined spaces, helping them to reduce risk to their lives in their day to day job.
The danger of working in a confined space
Dangerous gases, flooding, collapse of structure, explosion and entrapment are very real dangers for anyone working in a confined space.
A confined space is defined as any place, in which by virtue of its enclosed nature, there arises a reasonably foreseeable specified risk and in order to keep employees as safe as possible, training should always be delivered around the The Water UK National Classification Standard which meets all City & Guilds guidelines.
Delivering ‘Outstanding’ training in Confined Spaces
Tim Graham, one of Expedient’s Confined Space training experts explains:
“For Expedient it isn’t enough to deliver a “good” standard course in Confined Spaces. We ensure that we deliver to an “outstanding” standard, as let’s face it, having the right skills and knowledge in this area of training is a matter of life and death.
The amount of people who have attended these courses is a testament that we are one of the UK experts in Confined Space training.”
Expert trainers
Our team aren’t just ‘Trainers’, our course leaders have worked within industries which regularly present the danger of having to operate in a confined space; such as the Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue and Utilities, meaning all those who attend our courses will experience training that’s relative.
Fantastic facilities
Tim goes onto explain;
“Having a practical training area that enables training to simulate being on the job is of course vital.
I feel really lucky to work for Expedient where the facilities are just fantastic; it makes a huge difference to the whole experience for the attendee when they are learning in an environment that simulates real life this well.”
High pass rate on our City & Guilds accredited course
Tim concludes;
“We’re all different in how and the rate in which we learn; and our training caters for all levels.
All of the course leaders are extremely patient and are able to adopt their methods to suit those who attend the course to help them fully understand, meet the criteria to work safely in a confined space and achieve a pass, gaining their City & Guilds certificate.”
