CPCS A62 Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor Training Including Theory and Practical Tests


This course is designed to give candidates the necessary theoretical and practical skills to enable them to pass their CPCS A62 Theory and Practical Tests which are conducted on this course.


3 days (8 hours per day).

Maximum Number

Suitable For

Any novices with no industry or machine experience who require a red CPCS card for A62 Crane/Lift Supervisor.


You must hold a Health and Safety Environment test. This must have been passed within the last 2 years.

You must also be physically and mentally capable of undertaking the tasks you are required to carry out.


To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • Legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice relating to lifting duties.
  • Safe systems of plant operation including method statements.
  • Personal responsibilities.
  • Cranes: types and terms.
  • Crane documentation.
  • Duty charts, crane stability, and safety devices.
  • Crane appreciation.
  • British Standard 1721.
  • The role of crane supervisor.
  • The role of appointed persons.
  • Preparing an area, with exclusion zones.
  • LOLER and PUWER.

And to pass your A62 CPCS Theory and Practical tests.

On successful completion of the Theory and Practical tests, candidates will receive a red A62 CPCS card.
