Overview

Identify the basic construction and components, and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
Identify and comply with manufacturer’s instructions in accordance with the operator’s handbook.
Establish SWL’s
Identify lifting accessories and their uses
Explain all relevant documentation and displayed information on the machine
Explain the use of attachments
Explain the hand signals and their uses
Carry out pre-start and running checks
Carry out pre-use checks of the lifting accessories/attachments and identify the rejection criteria
Operate controls and manoeuvre the crane in limited access & position the crane up to maximum working height
Keep within safe working parameters
Place the machine in an out-of-service condition
Explain the loading and unloading procedures

Aims

This course aims to provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the operational, and safety requirements together with the necessary operational skills applicable to Electric Overhead Crane. This course is applicable to novices or experienced operators requiring scheme re-assessment.
